The aim of the activities at BAS’s Sustainability & Impact Sub-Committee is to educate on how organisations can effectively harness the capabilities of blockchain and digital assets, to drive sustainability initiatives that seek to deliver tangible value propositions. Krishna’s blockchain advisory/consulting firm Digital Insights Ventures (DIV) will work closely with BAS in the areas of education and innovation in Impact & Sustainability. Such a tie-up fully accords with DIV’s corporate ethos, given how its interpretation of sustainability encompasses a wider scope that covers not just ESG and UNSDG precepts, but also inclusivity, equality, empowerment, opportunity and the like. In this sense DIV’s sustainability sensibilities dovetail well with the objectives of the Sustainability & Impact Sub-Committee at BAS, given DIV’s judicious approach towards collaboration in the blockchain space, as embodied by one of its core competencies, which is this practitioner’s understanding of the digital-asset taxonomy. DIV’s taxonomy-based approach entails capabilities in artfully matching up traditional, brick-&-mortar business models (or asset classes) with their ‘strategically rightful’ landing spot(s) in the blockchain industry. Doing so helps foster value-added activities in the sustainability sector, such as linking up BAS with members of DIV’s community of ecosystem partners. Notwithstanding such initiatives on the ground, the Sub-Committee’s sustainability activities are to be construed in light of the bigger picture, which is BAS’s mission to spur the development of the blockchain and digital assets industry, with DIV as its partner.
