Consorzio Pisa Ricerche, established in 1987 in Pisa on initiative of the Italian Institute for Public Enterprise, is a leading European organization in the Research and Technology Development, training and technology transfer sectors. Consorzio Pisa Ricerche is a consortium of public and industrial research centers: University of Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR), Ente per le Nuove tecnologie, l'Energia e l'Ambiente (ENEA), Alcatel Alenia Space - Finmeccanica, Kayser Italia, ENI, Piaggio, Avio. It is an open and flexible structure, able to take on initiatives proposed by external subjects, as well as to undertake projects of its own, by drawing on human resources and expertise from the surrounding research and industry environment. Current R&D activities encompass a wide range of research fields including: Aerospace, Energy and Environment, Telecommunications, Multimedia and e-commerce, Software Engineering, Microelectronics, Geographical Information Systems and Language Technology. Consorzio Pisa Ricerche promotes and improves start-up and spin-off actions in the technological areas where relevant R&D results have been achieved. In the last years Consorzio Pisa Ricerche created 4 spin-off companies. The solid experience in the management of RTD, technology transfer and training projects can be summarized in more than 250 projects acquired, of which more than 100 in the framework of EU programmes.
