Fandom is a startup series E and a spinoff of Wikipedia focusing on entertainment (movies, TV series, video games, comics…) with 300M monthly users. Reporting to the CTO, my department builds data pipelines for analytical purposes and delivers data services to enhance revenue and user experience.Main duties:● Create, grow and manage a data science & engineering department● Educate the executive management about data● Gather and surface data for analytical purpose● Build data services to improve ads & engagement feature Key results / Management:● Defined and improved a recruitment process favoring diversity and inclusion● Built a data department from nearly scratch by hiring 18 people (data scientists, data and ML engineers, from IC2 to senior manager) with high diversity● Achieved highest employee engagement score amongst of all tech teamsKey results / Impact at company level:● Define a global data vision and identify priorities of development● Deliver content classification increasing the value of Ads inventory by $7.5M● Developed API and dashboards to give data and insights to marketing and sales teams● Organize the first Fandom’s data summit to align all teams working with data (Analytics, Ads, Sales, Platform, Store, etc) and turned it into an annual event
