Palais de la découverte
The Palais de la Découverte is a museum created in 1937 which aims to make science, its methods and its results accessible to everyone through a series of spectacular demonstrations and interactive experiences. It strives to present and demonstrate science as it is experienced, as it is done; Jean Perrin, its founder, said “science in the making”. The Palace is a public establishment of a scientific, cultural and professional nature until 2009 which merged by decree (December 3, 2009) with the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie in the Public establishment of an industrial and commercial nature (EPIC) the Palais de la Découverte and the City of Science and Industry, also called Universcience, placed under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and the Ministry of Culture. Its ambition is to decompartmentalize knowledge, put science into culture, make today's sciences known and loved, and to promote scientific and technical culture.
